July 20 2011 Almost ready for Big trip

Well it been a busy week or two with the kids birthday last weekend and mom and dad going on vacation and Lori getting ready for her trip kids going to Vacation bible school and me getting ready for my trip..
Kids birthdays was at Gatti' land and I have to say it was fun and a pretty good value as far as $$$$ go.

The boys got face paint like pirates and the girls were cats.. we got to play a ton of video games eat pizza have gifts and of course face paint.. I took the boys over to Jones SBC stadium and the girl at the gift shop lock the doors and took us out to stadium so the boys could see the field..

As we drove across campus I saw a guy down on one knee proposing to a girl.. I honked my horn at them and they waved back at us.. I drove around the circle and caught up with them and told them I had a camera and would take there picture if they wanted me too.. So we did and I gave them my business card and told them to email me and i would send them the pictures,,, but I Have not heard from them..They did give me an invitation to the wedding In August.. Seems this guy has been proposing to this girl all over town for a while now.. wedding is already planned and what they told me was the girl already has a few kids and he is really stepping up to the plate... married and a father all in one day kind of thing.. any way i hope i hear from them soon.. I prayed for them as they drove off.

Sat down with Lori And Donna last night and helped them plan there trip.. taught them how to use the TOMTOM gps  I hope they don't get lost.

I just about got my bike ready for my trip.. I have been to Walmart almost every day gettin more gear. I have been watching the weather and It looks like it Gonna be hot in the upper 90's for my trip.. Woneder full but what can you expect in JULY!!

I also been working on a project for the church, as a trustee i volunteered to help find a new bus for the church.. The old one has cast some doubt on its reliability.  So I spent a few hours with a bus salesman putting down some specs and hes gonna get me a price soon.. hopefully this week.

JULY 9 2011

Well as my trip to Indiana approaches and I am making my final preparations (getting me and the bike ready) I have had two relatives try to talk me out of riding the bike to Indiana.. My mom and her sister...  Mom came to the office on Friday and tried and today I was at my aunts house and she was under the impression I was going on this trip the the same time my parents were  going to Oregon and the same time that my wife and kids were going to Galveston and that nobody would be here to answer the phone if some thing happened to me... Not all of those facts are true.. Beside ever body has a cell phone.. Including my wife , mom, dad, and just about every other adult I know that i would call if something happened to me. Owell it nice to be loved I guess..
 I had the kids with me all day today, we left the house Early went to MickyD's for breakfast and on to Lubbock to get some tires mounted  for the BMWmotorcycle .. I went I27 power sports and I have to say this the first transition I have ever made with them and it was very plesant..Ill go back.. I have been there before but this the first time they worked on my bike... nice people.. Also went had the tires rotated on  my pickup at Rick's tire center I have bout a few sets of tires from them and they are excellent on knowlege and service.. plus free flat and rotations is good too.. I recomend them.. Went to the sprint store to look at new phone or a new holster for old left with nothing.... I hate changing phones... Then took the kids to hobby lobby they were a blast... picking out stuff for there birthday and me taking pictures of the stuff and sending  it to mom.. Of course we bought few thing too.. Kids have such an imagination when they are in a art store like that,, thay all kind of ideas, it was fun.. Then lunch and out to Aunt Brenda's to Aunt Connie who was in from Illinois.. Connie didn't try to talk me out of the trip but she did give me her cell number cause I will be just less than 100 mile from her when i get up there. We only see Connie once every couple years when she come down usually around 4th of July.  Came home around 6 and it rained on us in Abernathy... wow Rain it was nice to see it can still rain...

July 6 2011 The first entry

My first entry....Why am I blogging??? I don't Know really.. just thought I would give it a try and see where it goes.. I don't think anybody can get hurt... Well it's July 6th 2011 and I am just about sick and tired of this heat and drought...  I haven't complained much about it as I realize I can't do much about it.. Beside in my professions I hear about it all day long.. That's right I said professions.. I have two.. I sell farm equipment at my father dealership and I also am a partner in a crop insurance agency.. So I hear about the weather all day as it effect my customer base immensely.. Other thing I like to do, spend time with my family, kids are growing up so fast one will be five and the other will eight this month. I also enjoy riding motorcycles, I have two and 2004 BMW 1150gs (just got in January) and a 1991 Harley sportster 883 (just got in June)(trade my 1979 kz1000st for the Harley)(I am gonna miss the KZ1000st, she was my first bike).Ever see that Subaru commercial where the guy goes to his class reunion and see his old girl friend and then goes home and smiles at the Subaru they use to date in... I'll bet he smiling about the Sabaru... yea right!!! I love the song on that commercial link to song  I try to ride as much as possible.. It's on my bucket list to ride 100 days per year.. I told a friend that the other day and he asked what will you do when you accomplish that? I guess he thought I was going to say some thing like "throw a party" but i replied.. " try to ride 150 days per year...LOL,,, BTW if you follow this blog you will find out that I like to LOL.. life is to short not LOL a few time a day... LOL .. oops i did it again..  So far this year I am at 39 days and 2400 miles. Oh another thing I like to do is E-Bay.. I just scored a pair of Joe rocket riding pants for $36.00 including shipping .. yes they are slightly used but when your talking about a  $150++ pair of pants your just gonna get dirty any way, used is the way to go.. I also recently scored as set of TourTech Tank Panniers for under half price.. I am accumulating gear for a trip I am planning to take on my BMW at the end of this month..(another bucket list thing) I am going to ride from Plainview Tx to Indianapolis Indiana for a dealer meeting.. It should be about 1100 miles oneway. I'll blog along the way and post some pictures too.. Well thats enough for tonight.. Future blog topic's &  ideas..
